330 Stainless Steel / N08330 is an austenitic heat and corrosion resistant alloy that combines strength with resistance to carburization, oxidation and thermal shock. This alloy is designed for applications in high temperature industrial environments that require good resistance to the combined effects of carburization and thermal cycling, such as the heat treatment industry.

The silicon content in the 330 Stainless Steel / N08330 enhances carburization and oxidation resistance to about 2100°F. 330 stainless steel remains fully austenitic at all temperatures and does not become embrittled by sigma formation. It has a solid solution composition and cannot be hardened by heat treatment. The alloy's strength and oxidation resistance at high temperatures make it a useful material for industrial furnaces.
